SML/SMP Lookup Tool
The SML/SMP discovery tool helps users find a Participant ID’s SML entry across all DBNAlliance domains (Production, Pilot, and Test) and verify SMP operation.
The SML and SMP services are essential for the proper functioning of AS/4 and the e-document exchange process.
Every time an Access Point system wants to send e-documents through the DBNAlliance network, it must:
- 1- Check for the existence of the NAPTR domain name (related to the receiver's participant ID and its type).
- 2- Find the SMP URL in that DNS record.
- 3- Call that URL for ServiceGroup and ServiceReference resources.
- 4- Use the information from these responses (digital encryption certificate, AS/4 endpoint URL, process ID, and document type ID) to build the AS/4 transmission.
SML and SMP data can be cached temporarily to reduce the load on these services.
